Start posting on Advancedmcode:

Advancedmcode gives you the possibility to share your program or know how in a complete editable webpage. There you can put everything you want including: videos, tabs, donations buttons, banners, pictures... etc. You will have the chance to publicize your work and increase your download number (For Maltab File Excahnge authors: the download link can be the one on Matlab File Exchange) . If your programs are really good you have the chance to monetize it!

To write posts just get an author account, you will soon receive your password, then you can Log In in the post editor.

To submit files go on the submit page.

What is advancedmcode.org?

Let me explain what is this new blog supposed to do:
Advanced Matlab Code wants to be every scientist’s blog, this means even you can be part of it. It somehow represents an extension to Matlab File Exchange (FEX) and allows the users to share their programs and knowledge with all the Matlab community.  The main topic is Matlab, an high level programming language used all over the world by the scientific community. But we also accept other programming languages and tutorial about anything science related: math, physics, biology, astronomy… briefly: All scientific items are welcome!

Why is advancedmcode.org different?

What differs from FEX is that here each program and each author will have complete editable free webpages. This will allow the author to better explain what the program does maybe with tabs, graphics, videos or different coloration. I don’ know you, but I personally find the FEX programs presentations a little to “gray”.

We will also allow for downloads of files bigger than 20MB, protected codes, binaries code and demos of commercial software.

The idea to involve many authors as possible comes from  the fact that is very hard for a single person to maintain a blog. Keeping it updated with original ideas and posts every days is not easy at all.

How to make some money with advancedmcode.org?

You can get paid to write posts.

More,  every author will have a personal paypal donation button(only if desired), so users that find the program or the tutorial particularly useful may give donations. But remember this is not just economical, it is also personal, you should ask yourself: are my program so good that people are willing to donate for them? Interesting challenge isn’t?

To get the PayPal link you also need to send us the html code of a donation button pointing to  your account. You can find it in your paypal account (search for donation button).

Basically we give you the possibility to monetize your tool! It is up to you to you choose whether ask for donations, sponsorizations or simply make your tool  free.

How to contribute?

You can contribute to the project adding:

  • Posts: anything Matlab, Programming or Science related you are willing to discuss and receive opinions from others programmers.
  • Programs: Whatever  people may find useful. If you don’t want to show the source code you ca use p-code or binaries. We will separate programs by categories.
  • Tutorials: Anything about “how to” .
  • Commercial softwares: You have your protected code or binary and FEX staff does not allow you to publish it?
Send us your code and your personal webpages and you will have the chance to publicize your product. We can also publish demos, videos…
  • Papers: academic papers.
  • Books: Matlab related Books.
  • NewsGroup: job offers, help requests, suggestions

How to submit products?

You can send us your work just using the Submit page.

Please send the attachment in .zip format, documents must be in editable format (.doc .odt or better html), possibly keep the figures, tabs, videos in a different file. Differently form FEX we will accept files bigger than 20MB.

Pdf are accepted only for papers!

We can also join the download link with the one on your FEX profile, this way you can increase your download numbers and the popularity of your works.

To upload your commercial software, paper, book advertising you can send in the attachment a brief description and a picture.
